Alien Week
Starting Monday, leading up to the release of my most anticipated movie of the summer Ridley Scott's Prometheus on Friday, I'll be looking back on the four movies that make up the Alien Quadrilogy. Will Alien still be my favorite or will Aliens (which tends to be the most highly regarded of the series) win me over? Will Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection be just as bad as I remember them? Find out starting on Monday.

You're watching the directors cut of 2 and 3 right?
ReplyDelete3's makes it alright and 2's makes it 1's completely different but totally equal brother.
I tried to do my research as to what the directors preferred. I ended up only doing the director's cut of Aliens as Cameron said that one was his ideal cut. Ridley Scott said he preferred the original for 1 as did Jean-Pierre Jeunet for 4.
ReplyDeleteAs for three, I came across a published booklet that said, "There's no mysterious Director's Cut of Alien 3. It doesn't exist." So I ended up watching the Theatrical.
Can't wait for Prometheus, although initial reviews here are saying it's simply "good."

ReplyDeleteThere's three versions apparently. Theatrical, the workprint and the assembly cut. Pretty sure the work print is the one I've seen.
I think the "work print" is on the Quadrilogy dvd...
ReplyDeleteIndeed it is.
